Community Partnerships
Community Partnerships
Lincoln Centennial Public School recognizes the importance of a positive ongoing relationship with our community: neighbours, whether they be our next door neighbours, local businesses or social service clubs and agencies. We thank our partners for their support.
Sobeys on Scott St. Street, St. Catharines
Sobeys has willingly donated food items to our breakfast and snack programs for the past two years. Their generosity has included eggs, bread, pastries and fruit. They also provide a pumpkin for every student during the month of October every year. It is so exciting to see each child walk, roll or cycle their pumpkins home.
Starbucks on Scott Street, St. Catharines
In 2008-2009, Starbucks partnered with Lincoln Centennial and provided each student with a new book at Christmas through their Literacy campaign. We are currently working together on a “Make Your Mark” campaign to raise funds for a local charity. Employees of the local Starbucks will be volunteering their time at our school as part of the project.
Rotary Club of St. Catharines
Our school is fortunate to be one of two schools chosen to participate in the Rotary Readers Initiative. Each week a member from the Rotary Club of St. Catharines comes to our school to read a story to our primary students. They also spent a little time talking about their job and work in the community. The Rotary Club has also supported our literacy program by providing picture books and thesauri for our classrooms.
Niagara Nutrition Partners
Our breakfast and snack programs are run through the Niagara Nutrition Partners, part of Community Care. Many volunteers from the community assist in providing nutritious food for our students. The Niagara Nutrition Partners are an amazing support for these programs.
Pen Centre and Niagara Regional Police
Cop Shop is an exciting event that happens every December for five of our students. The Pen Centre in coordination with the Niagara Regional Police take five Lincoln Centennial students shopping at the Pen Centre for Christmas gifts for their family and themselves. We are fortunate to be chosen for this exciting event every year.
Education Foundation of Niagara
The EFN has been very supportive of our school providing additional funds for student trips, purchasing physical education equipment and musical instruments. This year they are funding to support our Character Education initiative.
Niagara Ice Dogs and Governor Simcoe
We have been chosen for the “Adopt-A-School” campaign by the Niagara Ice Dogs which was funded for us by Governor Simcoe Secondary School. Every Monday morning, student names are draw for two tickets to the Ice Dog home games for the week. These names are chosen from the Students of the Month.
YMCA of St. Catharines
The YMCA runs a before and after school program at Lincoln Centennial. They also participate in our Summer School program providing leadership in teaching our students cooperative games.
